Steps In Getting A Mullet Haircut
If you have shoulder-length hair like Eddie Guerrero did when he sported his mullet then perhaps you want to try his haircut. Here is a simple 3-step tutorial to get a mullet haircut at home.
Step 1: Divide hair into two sections
Start with washed, conditioned, and then completely dry hair. Section your hair using hair-dividing clips (such as duck clips) by first ensuring the top part of your hair is secure.
If your hair is shoulder-length or more then you can section and make a bun so your hair stays in place. This is the lengthiest section of the haircut.
Step 2: Cut the hair near the temple area
Debulk the hair around your temple area so that the contrast is easily visible with the long top hair that you will flaunt in this haircut. Do this using a clipper with the number 3 guard and lever open.
Go in upward and outward motion carefully to ensure you don’t cut through the top hair. Do this on the other side as well. You can continue this until the nape on both sides for shorter sides.
Step 3: Cut the top
Now it is time to cut the lengthiest portion of your head. If you want to have some bangs on either side then you can take a small horizontal section and then part before cutting each side off to eyebrow length or less as per your preference.
If not, then bring the hair forward onto your shoulders and cut at a 45-degree angle so that the hair is straight at the back.
