The show, which follows a tight storyline, has kept audiences engaged and entertained for four whopping seasons, each with twists, turns and drama to keep the fans hooked to the seat.

Season 1

It introduced the audience for the first time, to Eren Jaeger’s world, his people, Paradis Island and the ‘wall’. This wall prevents the blood-thirsty Titans on the other side from seeping in and consequently wreaking havoc in their lives.

The viewers also learn about the power politics on Eren’s side of the wall, where the rich enjoy maximum protection from the Titans, while the poor are just a stone’s throw away from the monsters.

Eren’s life changes entirely when his mother gets killed by a smiling Titan. This sparks a thirst for vengeance, and soon he joins a soldier troop called Survey Corps to fight Titans.

During this process, Eren also discovers that he has the power to transform into a Titan himself; a power he intends to use against the Titans themselves.

Season 2

The second aired after a four-year break, 2017, with 12 episodes to its credit. The story takes off after a gripping battle against the Titans.

Eren Jaeger and his friends are en route to becoming full members of the Survey Corp, whilst the soldiers deal with the aftermath of the same fight.

Eren, however, has little time to rest as an attack by the Titans threatens one of the walls. And so it continues, the constant push and pulls of power between the Titans and the humans.

As the Survey Corp fights off the new threat, they soon start to learn secrets and unravel mysteries of the Titan and their own members as well.

Season 3

The third installment of the show aired soon after, the 22 episodes releasing between 2018 and 2019.

Threats continue to hassle the lives of the humans on the other side, as Eren and the Survey Corps try to do their best to defend the walls and protect the people.

However, they start facing troubles from within their own walls as well, as Eren and Historia are suddenly pursued by the government, and are demanded to be handed over to the corrupt military police.

Now that threat arises from their own people, the new squad of Survey Corps must do their best to hide Eren and Historia to keep them safe, and evade the safe.

The second half of the third season focuses on the Survey Corps’ attempt to regain control of Wall Maria. Here, Eren must revisit his erstwhile home in Shiganshina District which reminds him of his tough childhood.

He renews his resolve to destroy the Titans for good and strives to emerge successful in his mission at the Survey Corps.

Season 4

The fourth and final season aired between 2020 and 2022, with the last part of the season yet to air.

This season is chock full of rising tensions, and one fight after the other. The Eldians, or Eren’s side of the battle, go to war with their ultimate oppressor Marley, who plans to invade Paradis Island.

Audience Reception

Thanks to the way in which Attack On Titan weaves through the many genres of fantasy, action, and drama, the anime has built an audience cutting across ages, nationalities and interests.

It was one of the most viewed shows in the United States in 2021, when the final season kicked off. In fact, it is the only anime show to be on TV Time’s top 50 most followed TV series ever, which is a pretty big deal for a non-English series like Attack on Titan.

Moreover, it broke the Guinness World Record for the ‘most in-demand anime TV show’. Only this year, it even won the ‘Most In-Demand TV Series in the World’ in the Global TV Demand Awards, and became the only non-English language series to bag this prestigious award previously held by ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Game of Thrones’.
