The crew cut is a mix of perfection because it gives off a retro vibe with the touch of a modern haircut. More and more men are opting for crew cuts because they look cool and require minimal effort to style.

Plus, crew cuts are highly customizable and they go well with any length of beard and mustache. Crew cuts look great on any hair type and texture so even if you have curly hair, don’t shy away from trying this cut.

Steps In Getting A Crew Cut

Want the Corey Seager haircut? Here is how you can get the crew cut at home with just clippers, a mirror (or two), and a trimmer.

Step 1: Oil the blade

First and foremost, oil your blade to avoid overheating your clipper. About 3 drops of oil should be sufficient.

Make sure you point the clipper downwards when you are doing this. The purpose of this is to ensure your hair is cut precisely and effortlessly as it facilitates easy hair gliding.

Step 2: Cut the top

Attach the number 6 guard comb to your clipper with the lever open. Start at the front (close to your forehead) and then go back until your nape if that’s where you want the long hair portion to end. Move the clipper in multiple directions including against the grain.

Step 3: Cut the sides

Using the number 4 guard with the lever open, you want to go around your head where you want the blending to start; above the shortest length and below the longest length.

Using an upward scooping motion, ensure you don’t mistakenly cut the long-length areas of your head.

Step 4: Blend the hair

Close the lever and then blend the hair using an upward scooping motion. You want to target the same area. This will allow the longer length to look good with the shorter length and it won’t look like the disconnected haircut.

Step 5: Cut the largest area

The largest area will be the shortest length; below the top and a portion of the sides. Using the clipper with guard number 3, cut the hair until the blending part starts.

Ensure the clipper sits flat on your head. Start from the nape and go upward for easy navigation.

Step 6: Clean the hairline

While you can leave it at that we highly recommend that you use a trimmer if you want the perfect hairline! Choose the line and then place it at a 90-degree angle to your neck then move it down your neck. You can do this on your sideburns too.

Conclusion

The crew cut is one of the neatest haircuts that work well for all occasions. You can make it more stylish by coloring the tips of your hair or using hair products for an amazing comb-back look.

Crew cuts are short haircuts so while they are low on maintenance this is not equal to no maintenance. But now that you know how to get a crew cut at home, you no longer need to worry about booking an appointment because you can do it all at home!

Do you think you will try this haircut at home? Or are you planning to try it on your sibling before you try it on yourself? We assure you it is simple!
