How to Spot Fake vs Original Nike Air Force 1? – Fake vs Real Air Force 1

Since Nike Air Force 1 is a classic piece that must be in everybody’s shoe closet, it is also expensive, which is why counterfeit sneakers are being sold at a cheaper price than the original ones.

This list will help you determine the real ones and spot the fake Nike Air Force 1 sneaker:

1. Inspect the Rear Section of the AF1

Counterfeit AF1 always has flaws on the rear section of the shoe including loose stitches, a crooked Nike Logo, and smaller Nike fonts.

The Nike logo is a check mark which is easy to copy however, it has a certain length that matches the Nike lettering above it – fake ones always have a longer check-mark tail than the original one which makes Nike Lettering small.

Below it, you will also notice the “AIR” embroidered lettering that matches the vertical section at the back – each letter synchronizes with this vertical part and if it does not, it is fake.

2. Nike AF1 Swoosh Logo

Nike Air Force 1 has a Nike Swoosh logo (checkmark) that has a distinct curve at the front which is smoother and looks much more natural than the faker one.

The fake one usually has a deeper curve than the real ones – it is hard to recognize if you are not looking closely at the details but you can always ask Nike stores to verify these.

3. Check the pattern of the hole on the side of AF1

The holes on the side of the Nike Air Force 1 are situated a lot higher than those counterfeit sneakers.

It is usually located on the middle of the sole and Nike swoosh logo while the fake ones have a hole near the sole.

4. The toe box of the AF1 is flat

The toe box of a shoe is located on the inside of the sneaker where your toes are when you wear it and the genuine AF1 sneaker has a flat toe box that is very evident when you lay it flat on the floor.

If you notice that the AF1 sneaker that you purchased is inflated or pointing its toe box higher than usual- usually looks like the tip of a boat that has a curved tip, it is fake.

5. Check the AF1’s small holes on the toe box

The holes on the front part of the toe box can also reveal the authenticity of Nike’s AF1 sneaker as it should all be the same size and not too big or small.

The fake ones usually are not fully perforated or punched in and their holes also do not come in the same sizes as the counterfeiters used equipment which is not as precise when making the genuine one.

6. Inspect the sticker label on the box

Just like the shoes, the box is also made of high-quality materials and has been in thorough inspection before being sold in the market which includes the sticker label on the box that has been glued nicely and uses a specific font and format.

If the sneakers that came to you have been in a box that is beat-up and the labels are not glued out evenly, you might have bought a fake one.

Are Air Force 1’s Fake Leather? – Fake vs Real Air Force 1

It is not a secret that Nike Air Force 1 has a lot of different designs and variations and these dictate the prices of each pair of sneakers.

Some might be more expensive than others and some are cheap and this is because of the materials used in the sneakers like those Air Force 1 x Louis Vuitton that cost $4000-$5000 and is made of real leather.

Those cheaper AF1s including the Triple White Version might be made of synthetic leather because it creases much more easily than others that are priced much higher.

There is no confirmation from Nike that the leather used was synthetic but a lot of the customers noticed that cheaper AF1s are not using the same leather as those that are priced expensively.
