Steps In Shaving Head

Shaving your head requires some tips and tricks for a neat and clean dome. Here is how you can shave your head at home.

Step 1: Cut or buzz it first

If you have medium-length or long hair, then cut it roughly first. Then buzz it off so that it is easy to shave your head.

You can use a good quality clipper to do this so that the hair is as short as it can possibly be. You can use the clipper with no guard or the smallest guard to buzz it down.

Step 2: Rinse with warm water

Once you are done buzzing your hair, rinse your hair with warm water. This will help soften your skin making it better to work with and preventing burning. It will also help your hair relax prior to shaving it all off.

Step 3: Exfoliate and apply pre-shave oil

Exfoliation is important even when you are shaving your head so use a good scrub by slathering it onto your head first.

This will prevent ingrown hairs which are quite problematic and annoying to deal with post-shaving. Then apply a pre-shave oil so the razor can work easily.

Step 4: Lather with shaving cream

Using shaving cream on your head is highly recommended before you shave. You can also use a shaving gel if you wish instead. Apply the shaving cream on your palms and then slather it on your head for the best shave.

Step 5: Shave

The razor you use should be sharp. If not, then switch it for a better one for easy gliding. Use the razor slowly to shave your head and ensure you are using gentle strokes.

Rinse the razor after every use under the tap and avoid hitting it against the sink. Shave with the grain going from front to back.

Step 6: Rinse with cool water

When you have completed shaving your head, rinse it with cold water. The cold water helps to close your pores thereby making your skin firmer.

It will help remove dead skin, shaving gel, and any other residue on your scalp. Apply an aftershave lotion once you are done.

Conclusion

Going bald is a personal decision so make sure you think it through before you pick the razor to shave it all off. But then again, it’s just hair. You can always grow it back if you wish later on.

As you read in the tutorial, going bald is a simple process but it requires you to tread carefully to ensure your skin doesn’t burn or get irritated when you are shaving it. Do you think you will shave your head anytime soon?
