Eric Lynn Wright was born on September 7th, 1964 in Compton, California. He grew up selling drugs to survive in a place where gang culture was rampant and crime rates were sky-high.

He reportedly earned about $250,000 by just selling drugs by the time he was 22 years old. Everything changed for him when his cousin was shot and killed. Eazy E decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in making music.

He started Ruthless Records and recorded songs in his parent’s garage. He was part of N.W.A which was a hip hop group also known as the world’s most dangerous group.

In 1988, his debut album, Eazy-Duz-It, was released and it had 12 tracks. It reached number 41 on Billboard 200 and sold 2.5 million copies. Jerry Heller became N.W.A’s manager and this is when the group split.

Eazy E released an EP after that. He was admitted to the hospital on February 1995 when he had a violent cough and it turned out he had HIV/AIDS.

It caused him to get pneumonia which eventually led to his death on March 26th, 1995 in Los Angeles, California. In January 1996, 10 months post his death, his final album called Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton was released.

Famous haircuts of Eazy E

Eazy E was often seen wearing caps and it was seldom that people saw him without one. Here are two of his popular haircuts and styles.

The shaped afro haircut is popular because you can flaunt your natural hair in full glory. You can shape your afro using clippers and going over your hair with a free hand.

Eazy E had this haircut and you can see how handsome he looked in it. The afro haircut is among the most distinct haircuts and you should definitely wear it naturally when you get the chance!

Layered Haircut

It is possible to turn your afro hair into soft curls and Eazy E had done just that. The soft curls have a world of their own and they look great on every occasion.

His hair seems to be in layers and he has a short bob-length haircut here. The layered bob is not reserved for people with straight hair because it looks fantastic on people with curly hair too.

Steps In Getting Loose Curls

Want the same loose curls like Eazy E? Then follow the tutorial below to turn your hair into loose curls easily at home. Also, learn how to trim your hair with ease.

Step 1: Wash your hair

The first step is to wash your hair so it is completely clean. Then apply conditioner to your hair thoroughly so that every strand is covered in conditioner.

Use a comb (not a brush) to comb your hair so that the conditioner evenly coats your hair strands. Do this slowly to prevent hair breakage and pull.

Step 2: Remove excess water

Remove excess water from your hair by shaking your head left to right and up to down. This way the excess water will come off your hair.

Then gently comb your hair in the direction you want to style it after your hair gets dry and the loose curls start to take shape. For example, if you want to wear your hair with a natural part then part it using the comb that way.

Step 3: Wash hair again

Remove the conditioner by washing your hair. Be cautious when you are doing so because you don’t want to comb your hair during the washing process. You simply want to remove the conditioner from your hair.

Make sure the center of your head has space so that the conditioner is removed from there too. Don’t change the way you styled your hair because that is key to getting the curls.

Step 4: Apply oil

Shake your head to remove the excess water again. Let your hair air dry. This may take a while but it is best if you let your hair dry this way.

Then if you wish to apply products such as Moroccan oil, you can do so at this point. You will notice that the curls will be loose and not too difficult to deal with. If you want the afro hair then simply comb through it after it dries.

Step 5: Trim hair

Trimming can be done in a variety of ways. If you want to trim your curls then wear them as you normally would then use haircutting scissors to trim the ends.

Do a bit at a time so you don’t cut too much hair accidentally. When cutting, don’t pull forward or backward, and let the hair be as it would naturally fall so that you can get the best cut.

Conclusion

Eazy E’s contribution to rap and hip-hop can never be forgotten as he will forever be in people’s hearts. Even though he couldn’t release more albums and tracks, the ones he did release until his unfortunate death will always be there for others to enjoy.

As he was part of the gang culture, having grown up in a dangerous neighborhood, he knew well enough what it all meant but he decided to turn his life around through music.

His legacy will remain forever and his haircuts which were often simple and sophisticated will always be remembered. Which is your favorite album or track of Eazy E?
